I have built a lot of products. And every time, the analytics setup was the same depressing ritual.
Open GA4. Stare at a dashboard that somehow tells you everything and nothing at the same time. Spend 20 minutes trying to find where basic pageview data is hiding. Give up. Close the tab.
I am not a data scientist. I am a builder. I want to know if people are showing up, where they are coming from, and whether what I just shipped is working. That is it. That is the whole job.
GA4 is not built for that. It is built for enterprise analytics teams with three months to configure it and a lawyer on retainer for GDPR. Which is fine, if that is you. But it is not me, and it is not most of the people I know who are actually building things.
So I looked at the alternatives. Plausible is clean and privacy friendly, which I respect. But it is purely traffic focused and the pricing jumps fast once you scale. Fathom is similar. Good, but not cheap, and no free tier to even try. Visitors.now is interesting but early. None of them felt like exactly what I wanted.
What I wanted was simple: a dashboard I can glance at in 10 seconds and understand. Privacy friendly by default so I do not have to think about cookie banners. Realtime so I know what is happening now, not last Thursday. And priced in a way that does not punish me for growing.
That is Lyli.
I started building it because I needed it. I am finishing it because a lot of other people need it too. Beta opens April 6th. Free plan available. Come check it out.
